New Chatswood Eye & ENT Hospital To Be National Benchmark

Presmed Australia (PMA), is a Sydney based healthcare company specialising in the establishment and management of Ophthalmic and ENT day hospitals. PMA is partnering with local Ophthalmologists and ENT Surgeons to open a new private Eye and ENT hospital in one of the leading greenfield sites in Chatswood, on the corner of Albert and Archer Streets. The new hospital will have 6 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 14 first stage anaesthetic and recovery trolleys, 16 second stage day surgery recliner chairs and 4 overnight beds. Building works commenced in April 2014 with the hospital opening scheduled for January 2016.

Chatswood Eye Hospital Update Nov 2014

Since the sod- turning in March 2014, the project has completed excavation and foundation works. The walls of the basement continue to be erected along the perimeter, clearly defining the shape of the new building. The basement section is near completion and ground floor is underway.

Presmed Annual Optometrist Conference

Our Sydney facilities, Ophthalmic Surgery Centre and Epping Surgery Centre recently held an extremely successful Optometrist Conference. 132 Optometrists attended and heard from 26 industry-leading Ophthalmologists on their very latest ophthalmic knowledge and surgery techniques conducted at both of these centres of excellence. Aside from the unique educational aspects, the Conference provided Optometrists with opportunities to strengthen referral relationships and to network with colleagues, specialists and suppliers. The Conference was awarded 12T OAA CPD points.


Endoscopic Cyclo Photocoagulation (ECP) for Glaucoma Management

ECP is a surgical approach to Glaucoma management that employs endoscopy and visualised laser application of the Ciliary Processes. The selective ablation of the Ciliary Processes reduces the production of Aqueous Humour and thereby lowers Intraocular Pressure (IOP). ECP can be performed at the same time as Cataract surgery and is both safe and effective as surgical management for cataract and glaucoma.
