Chatswood Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility opened in January 2016 in the Sydney north shore suburb of Chatswood.
Our custom-built facility hosts precision instrumentation, complemented by highly experienced specialist nursing staff who use best practice sterilisation procedures.
With an average stay of just three and a half hours, we are proud of our record of excellent recovery with minimal disruption to patients’ lives.
We have six operating theatres, one laser procedure room, 14 first stage anaesthetic and recovery trolleys, 16 second stage day surgery recliners, and four overnight beds.
Our hospital sets new standards in excellence, due to rapid advancements in technologies and this being a green field, custom-built facility. We’re proud to offer technologies such as Zeiss ceiling mounted microscopes, GE anaesthetic machines, precision instrumentation, Femtocataract laser, exacting sterilisation equipment and hi-tech ophthalmic and ENT intraoperative machines.
Our nursing and support staff are second-to-none, attracted by the specialisation of what we do and the long history of our parent companies in providing ear, eye, nose, throat and facial surgeries.
The greenfield site is located in Chatswood, a significant business district hub with a growing array of retail, business, and entertainment facilities. Chatswood is located on the north shore train line, with excellent access to both public transport as well as convenient parking.
Chatswood Private Hospital is part of the PresMed Australia group of day hospitals.
We pride ourselves on continuing to ensure we improve our standards, knowing that excellence is a journey, not a destination.
We appreciate that undergoing surgery can be stressful, tiring or scary for patients. Our experienced team seeks to ensure all patients are treated with the utmost respect and care. Feedback from patients directly informs any changes we implement to our processes and procedures.
We also have volunteer patient and family advisors who give detailed feedback on their experiences at our hospital to help us plan improvements.
We run specialist health education programs in the community and also support local and international healthcare charities to bring critical surgery to those in need.
We are licensed by the NSW Department of Health and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), observing their strict day care procedure guidelines. We have negotiated contracts with all the major health funds and are a proud member of the Australian Private Hospitals Association and the Australian Day Hospitals Association.
We are also the first Australian private member of the World Association of Eye Hospitals, a prestigious group of leading ophthalmic centres around the world.
In addition, we undergo regular internal and external audits to ensure that our standards are always ahead of the national curve.
