Dr Roth is a dual fellowship trained Facial Plastic Surgeon and a paediatric and adult Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgeon. He specialises in ageing face rejuvenation, facelift, necklift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty and nose and sinus problems. As a head and neck trained surgeon Dr Roth specialises in cosmetic surgery only on the face and neck.
Dr Roth consults out of two locations. He has an office in Sydney’s Central Business District on Macquarie Street and in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Surgery is performed weekly at a select number of private hospitals.
Dr Roth has been involved in research assessing various techniques for performing tonsillectomies and managing post-operative pain. He enjoys treating children and paediatric ENT remains one of the highlights of his work.
Dr Roth completed his otolaryngology training in Sydney before going on to specialise in Facial Plastic Surgery and Rhinology. He was awarded a twelve month fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Rush University Medical Centre, Chicago. During that time he prepared for the International Facial Plastic Surgery examinations (IFFPSS) which provided a strong foundation for his Facial Plastic Surgery career. His role also included helping to manage a number of busy “sinus” clinics. He was exposed to advanced rhinology procedures including skull base, orbit, computer-guided surgery and revision sinus surgery.
Dr Roth has also spent time while in Chicago observing world leaders in rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery such as Dean Toriumi. Dr Toriumi is a recognised world leader in functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty.
Dr Roth then travelled to the Netherlands completed a European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship. Under doctors Trenite, Menger, Vuyk and Lohuis Dr Roth received further training in a broad range of procedures in Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr Roth has travelled to New York and Conneticut to train with Dr Neil Gordon in the deep plane facelift technique. Dr Gordon is recognised as the world leader in deep plane facelifting and it was Dr Roth’s privilege to spend time with him and learn his approach.
Dr Roth grew up in Sydney and attended undergraduate medical school at the University of New South Wales. He undertook rotations in emergency medicine, intensive care, general medicine and general surgery. Dr Roth then underwent specialist surgical training in ear, nose and throat and head and neck surgery and became a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a member of the Australian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and a number of other professional organisations.
Dr Roth is committed to improving outcomes in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery and has an ongoing interest in research. He has published papers in general Ear, Nose and Throat journals as well as subspecialty papers in both rhinology and facial plastic surgery. Link to Dr Roth’s research papers.
In his spare time Dr Roth likes to stay fit and enjoys running, swimming and cycling. He has recently been trying his hand at some train run ultramarathons and continues to love the thrill of a triathlon, in particular the half-ironman distance. He has a young family all of whom he dearly loves. He has been committed to providing medical care to areas outside of Sydney and has regularly worked in rural and regional NSW areas.
