Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Theatre Management Team, you will play a critical role in providing anaesthesia care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of expertise in anaesthetic techniques, patient monitoring, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare patients for anaesthesia, including physical assessments and reviewing medical histories. 
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and response to anaesthesia during surgery. 
• Provide post-anaesthesia care, including pain management and monitoring recovery. 
• Assist in the development and implementation of anaesthetic care plans. 
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained for anaesthesia procedures. 
• Educate patients and their families about anaesthesia procedures and post-operative care. 
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. 

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience: 

•  Registered Nurse with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia registration with AHPRA. 
• 7 years’ experience in Anaesthetics with exceptional clinical skills. 
• Anaesthetic Qualification. 
• Membership of professional associations. 
• Demonstrable leadership qualities and competence to be a preceptor for junior staff. 
• Ability to deliver outstanding clinical care and display standards of excellence while fulfilling the designated functions in the day surgery environment. 
• Demonstrable knowledge and application of policies and procedures within the anaesthetic domain. 
• Ability to establish interpersonal relationships and collaborate with the wider healthcare team to improve the quality of patient care. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication with computer literacy. 
• Commitment to continually engage in Quality Improvement in line with accreditation requirements.
