LenSX Femtosecond Laser

Chatswood Private Hospital (CPH) is committed to continually research and obtain the latest cutting edge technology that the Ophthalmic industry has to offer to that end a  6/12 month trial of the Alcon LenSX Femtocataract Laser commenced in November 2017.

The LenSX laser creates precise incisions in the eye, creating perfectly sized opening in the front of the lens and divides the cataract, all with a high precision image guided Femtosecond laser.

The LenSX laser is an advanced precision based technology that uses a computer controlled ad image guided high frequency. Its advantages include;

  • A bladeless procedure
  • More precise incisions
  • The incision will create more reproducible results with regards to astigmatism allowing better visual results, theoretically more robust and hence safer
  • A perfectly shaped and centred lens opening for more accurate IOL positioning and better visual results
  • A gentler procedure due to less manipulation of the eye
  • Ensuing a faster, kinder and gentler approach leading to quicker visual recovery and less damage to the delicate structures inside the eye
